Who Are We?

Hello, I am Dr. Julia (Jules) McCoy,

I founded the American Rugby Pro Training Center (ARPTC) out of a complete passion for the sport of rugby both as a player and a coach.

It has always been my vision to help promote the sport of rugby on a global scale and now that rugby is back in the Olympics and gaining national and international exposure the ARPTC is more committed than ever to prepare talented men and women rugby players to become and participate as elite rugby 7's athletes on the global stage.

Participants who are chosen to attend our unique player centric seminars, camps and residency programs will experience the highest quality coaching and fitness instruction focused on improving their overall performance in rugby 7's.

We push you to be your best and give you the support, training and skills to get you to the top of your game.

As the largest of only 5 designated National Development Academies we are proud to advance the sport of rugby with the aim of narrowing the performance gap between amateur domestic players and international rugby 7's by accelerating the development of athletes who cannot yet participate in the full-time residence program at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.

As a designated academy, we follow the international standards set forth for athletes aspiring to participate in the Olympic Games and international test rugby.

As participant of the academy at ARPTC you will get the best of the best including:

  • Rugby specific training, strength, speed and conditioning sessions
  • Video Analysis
  • Fitness Testing
  • Skill development in line with national team protocols
